New upcoming feature for TradeLogger
Hi there, just a quick post about a new feature I'm working on for TradeLogger. Soon it will have the ability to link directly to any saved snapshot of a chart so that it can be linked and associated with a trade and viewed again later. The ability to possibly mark up the chart within TradeLogger might be made available as well. Hopefully this will help people when they review their trades and be able to review the chart that contains the trade. Any feedback about this feature and desired tools for it are welcome.

version 2.3e - 9/5/2007
Fixed a problem where there is a possibility of losing trade data when using the FILTER GRAPH button. This update is an important one.

version 2.3d - 8/31/2007
Fixed a problem where the FILTER GRAPH button stopped working after entering a Journal Entry. Also corrected the way the journal field displays the text in the Trade Log window.

version 2.3a - 8/30/2007
Added 2 new features. CREATE JOURNAL ENTRY is a new button replacing the End Time button which really was not in use at all. With this button, you can add a short journal about your thoughts involved in the trade you want to record. Journaling is a valuable way to learn about your trading personality and issues. To edit or clear your journal entry, just click in the blue Trade Log window on the journal entry and the edit box will open up allowing you to make changes.

The second new feature is the “Sticky Date” check box next to the Date To Log field. If you are typing in many records and don’t want to have to re-fill this date box out again and again, just click the “Make This Date Stick” checkbox. Be sure to uncheck it when you are done making it stick though.

version 2.2o - 8/27/2007
Fixed a problem when using the LOG TRADE button which caused the “after” curve to be drawn over the full “before” graph.

version 2.2l - 8/26/2007
This version adds the ability to show the “before” and “after” equity curves by clicking the new button located in the lower left corner of the window. This new feature shows what your live equity curve looks like after following the advice that TradeLogger gives you about when to be in SIM mode and when to be in LIVE mode.

version 2.2i - 8/24/2007
Corrected a math issue when compiling the Equity Comparison information. The equity comparison figures should now accurately reflect the “before” and “after” totals for all the trades taken compared to only the live trades taken as advised by TradeLogger.

version 2.2h - 8/22/2007
Added a new feature. Now, all trades taken in LIVE mode are hilited in bold blue in the Trade Log Window. This way you can easily scroll through and find which trades were to have been taken live.

version 2.2g - 8/20/2007
Added the ability to change the TITLE of your TradeLogger window. This is helpful if you like to run multiple copies of TradeLogger and want to have each window identified with a different title. You can change the title by going into the PREFs panel and typing in the name you want to show in the “Default Window Name” field. Clicking the red X to close the PREFs panel will save the change.

--- END

ABOUT TRADELOGGER
TradeLogger is a free program for traders which is an all-in-one trade recorder and equity curve management system, with the built in ability to filter all your trades by a variety of variables letting you see how your equity curve is working on different markets and different patterns, etc., all within one simple interface with immediate feedback. The purpose of TradeLogger is to prevent major losses to your account while experiencing a losing streakThe important thing about TradeLogger, is that it is simple to use. You don’t need to know Excel, equations, programming or anything. The interface is straightforward so it’s perfect for amateur traders as well as professionals.

TradeLogger is suited for day traders, swing traders, options traders, futures traders, commodity traders, forex and stock traders. Basically anybody that trades to build their equity can benefit from TradeLogger (and who doesn’t trade to build their equity?)

The master trade log can also be exported into any type of format for Excel, Switcher, etc. and conversely, data from many other sources can be imported into TradeLogger, especially if they are in standard ‘delimited’ formats.

The nice thing that I like about this program is that it tells you what your next trade should be: live or sim.

The points on the graph represent each trade’s effect on the equity. When your equity is above the MA, the dots are blue (meaning trade live). When they are below the MA they are gray. The dots with the yellow circle around them indicate that this is a “transitional” trade, in other words, the results of this trade put you over or under the MA. The colored dot in the middle of the yellow circle tells you what you next trade should be...gray means next trade is a SIM trade, a green dot means the next trade is a LIVE trade.

Another aspect that I’d like to integrate is an InteractiveBrokers front end that will let you place your orders and immediately the information is reflected in real time in the graph, with signals generated to advise you in which mode your next trade should be.
